About us

Standing in the Gap Gun Club began as an idea conceived by a group of brothers and sisters who all met through church affiliations and have a common interest in firearms and shooting.

Our group is made up of a diverse mix of individuals with varying personal and professional backgrounds and interests. We decided to organize a club in an effort to share our interest in shooting and introduce others to firearm safety for home/personal protection, competition shooting, and outdoor recreational activities.

The core principles of the Standing in the Gap Gun Club, Orange County chapter of the National African American Gun Association (NAAGA), are to have every African American introduced to firearm use for home protection, competition shooting, and outdoor recreational activities. We are a pro-second amendment rights organization focused on the self-preservation of our community through armed protection and community building. We strongly believe in Firearm Safety, Training and Community.

Currently we are 1 of 7 NAAGA chapters in CA listed on the NAAGA website. We are based in Orange County and our reach spans all Southern California Counties. We were recognized as the Western Region Chapter of the Year at NAAGA's Inaugural National Leadership Conference August 14th, 2021 in Atlanta, GA and again in 2023 at NAAGA’s 1st Annual Convention.
